"Part groove architect, part storyteller, part ringmaster, Marrero brings his deep musicality to the stage, the studio and the airwaves."

Mexico City — born to Cuban roots. Austin based since '94, Alex lives at the cross-roads between Latin Soul, Afro-Caribbean rhythm, and deep funk swagger. A shape-shifting musician: drums, percussion, guitar, songwriter, producer, and a magnetic frontman who moves effortlessly from the pocket to the spotlight.
With 25 years behind the mic, Alex‘s voice is smooth, natural and compelling. Native sounding in both English & Spanish, his delivery can be edgy, dry or relatable. Whether it's commercials, educational, narration or audiobooks he delivers performances that feel real — because they are.
Alex is the bilingual voice of Austin's CapMetro Buses & Trains and The Austin Trail of Lights.
